The aim of the vocatium Wuppertal focus trade fair for training and degree courses is to enable visitors to discuss the start of their career and to make jobs come alive. Here, young people have the opportunity to talk to and present themselves as potential new recruits or students to more than 40 exhibitors including companies that take on trainees and apprentices, institutes of higher education, technical colleges and organisations focusing on STEM subjects and healthcare.
The vocatium trade fairs are based on a unique concept: young people are prepared for the trade fair by the IfT in lessons and are subsequently given scheduled meetings with the exhibitors of their choice. To deliver this concept, the IfT works closely with schools in the region. The vocatium concept is one of a kind and is widely praised for its quality. Across Germany, 4,000 exhibitors and 5,000 schools systematically include at least one vocatium fair in their yearly calendar of events.
