Moka Efti Orchestra & Benno Fürmann with “Der nasse Fisch“ (The Wet Fish) by Volker Kutscher and guest star Le Pustra (“Kabarett der Namenlosen“) give a musical reading. Following a number of successful readings last year, the renowned Moka Efti Orchestra is returning to the stage in 2025 along with celebrated actor Benno Fürmann and guest star Le Pustra to once more dive into the world that brings the colourful atmosphere of Berlin in the 1920s to life.
The unusual ensemble, which came to fame with the internationally acclaimed series “Babylon Berlin”, not only brings the music and the glamour of the era onto the stage but also the fascinating, dark stories from “Der nasse Fisch”.
Accompanied by the orchestra, Benno Fürmann, known from the series as the complex General Wendt, will captivate the audience with his powerful, versatile voice. With “Babylon Berlin“, directors Tom Tykwer, Achim von Borries and Henk Handloegten created a masterpiece that manages to depict the dangerous but intriguing world of the Weimar Republic in all of its many facets. With hits like “Zu Asche, zu Staub”, the febrile atmosphere of the 1920s spreads like a wildfire and is also brought back to life in the readings of Benno Fürmann.
The Moka Efti Orchestra and Benno Fürmann succeed in staging the novel in such a way that image, sound and reading come together in a harmonious triad. The audience can expect a first-rate multimedia show that knits together the past and the present and makes the Weimar Republic feel within touching distance. In this reading, Berlin comes across as wild, dirty, glamorous and party-mad at the same time.
An artistic highlight that revives the magic of the Golden Twenties and carries the audience off into a bygone but beguiling era.
